Costuming

 We chose these costumes because the pajamas in the beginning of the film give and almost cheery vibe until she buts on a dark dress which match the undertone of Graces personality. Graces character is meant to be a happy character but at the end she turns dark. Grace will then change into a dark dress. The other character is wearing a suit to represent graces partner. This is what the costuming represents in our film and the messages it will send.

• Do any changes need to be made in the locations chosen? No, changes are needed.

Dates and times

• When do you plan on filming? I plan on filming soon throughout next week.
• Do you have a schedule set up with the members of your group/actors? No, we dot currently have schedule but we are working on it.
• Is there a specific time of day that you need to film? We will film in morning through evening to match with the script.
• What is the lighting going to be like for that particular time? Do you need to supply your own light? The lighting will turn to bright sunny lighting and we will use a flashlight to create different scenes.

• What type of equipment will be needed for filming? Just an iPhone is needed and a flashlight.
• How are going to obtain these pieces of equipment? We have these equipment currently.

Film Opener Mood Board

   I am trying to capture both the horror and bright elements in my mood board. Since my genre is romantic horror I feel it is important to capture both aspects to make this mood board. This displays a few things that are going to be taking place in my film opener and overall mood of it. This mood fits and doesn't fit with my genre theme y giving overall aspects but not as similar lighting I am looking for.

1) I drew the pictures of the story board and descriptions of what is going on. I feel the story flows really well with the cross-cutting and jump cuts added to enhance both of the characters getting ready.

Final Project Idea

 What is the final idea for the project?  

Describe your final project in detail.  What is the genre you are focusing on?  What is the narrative (linear or non-linear) and storyline for your project?  What themes and representation will be showcased in your project? What are you excited about? Worried about?

The genre we are focusing is a horror romance genre. This will be a linear narrative focusing on the theme feminism and to not judge a book by its cover. It will be about a girl getting ready for a date with a guy with many jump-cuts but little does she know the guy is a serial killer. I am very excited to film this because I feel it will be very interesting and I have never attempted to do this genre. I am also worried that it may be difficult doing the lighting to match this genre to do a horror romance scene.

1.  Rise- The kid is very good at playing soccer and while he is playing a man watches him. The man wants to tell the boy how skillful he is at playing and give him an opportunity to improve his skills.

2. Dear Lover- The girl has run away from home because her mom had discovered she had a girlfriend. Her mom and her had currently gone into a fight because of this and are keeping distance from each other.

3. Dare to Thrill- A group of teenagers were having fun and decided to take a car for a ride. When they were done they put the car keys back but discover a body in the truck of the vehicle.

4. Always Watching- A boy is talking to his therapist about problems he may have had in the past but in reality he is talking about his own shadow and what he has done in the past.

5. White coat- A man is kidnapped by a crazy scientist and is taking his blood to use for an experiment and is tied up to find a secret portal the crazy scientist is working on.

Summarize: This helps show me the many twist that could come from these short movie openings and all the edits and lighting techniques we can use.

Group Member and Brainstorm

I decided to be working in group with Isabella J, and Krystine E. I'm working with these group members because they are the people that I am closest with and they are both really creative and will help make the movie. We are thinking the theme may be a horror romance genre and are planning to use many different edits like jumpsuits to display this.

Film Elements, Narrative, and characters

These characters aren't your typical superheroes; they both have a blend of serious and funny moments, making their films appeal to a wide audience. With Deadpool’s humor and Wolverine’s intensity, their stories create an exciting mix of genres that attract different types of viewers.

Genre
The movies featuring Deadpool and Wolverine mostly fall into the superhero and action genres, but they also mix in elements of comedy and drama. Deadpool often breaks the fourth wall and jokes about typical superhero clichés, bringing a comedic, almost satirical tone. On the other hand, Wolverine’s movies, especially Logan, have a darker, more serious side, dealing with themes of loss and redemption. This combination of genres works well, as Deadpool’s humor balances Wolverine’s darker themes. Fans who love action but also want some humor find this mix entertaining and refreshing.

Narrative
The plots of Deadpool and Wolverine movies focus on battles, both against villains and their own personal struggles. Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, uses humor to cope with his pain and has a chaotic, violent approach to problems. Wolverine, or Logan, faces darker issues, like dealing with his past and trying to find his place. These stories are built around conflict—whether it’s a battle against enemies or their inner demons. The main themes include resilience, revenge, and redemption, adding depth to the action and humor.

Character
Using Propp’s theory, which outlines common character types like the "hero" and the "villain," we can see that Deadpool and Wolverine don’t quite fit these typical roles. Wolverine is closer to the hero type, but Deadpool’s chaotic and morally gray personality makes him more of an antihero. Wolverine’s character also evolves, especially in Logan, as he goes from being a lone fighter to someone who reluctantly protects others. This complexity makes both characters interesting and attracts audiences who enjoy layered, unpredictable characters.

MOOD BOARD

My mood board for my horror movie creates a creepy, scary atmosphere that uses classic horror elements in a fresh way. It has images of eerie, empty places with dark blue lighting that makes everything feel cold and unsettling. This color gives a feeling of loneliness and fear, which is common in horror movies that aim to keep viewers nervous and alert. The settings include foggy forests, abandoned buildings, and underground tunnels—places where monsters could be hiding just out of sight. Each of these places adds a sense of mystery and fear to my movie’s world, making viewers worry about what might be hiding in the shadows.

The mood board also includes props that add to the suspense and danger in the story. For example, there’s an old lantern that suggests dim, flickering light in the dark, making it hard for the characters to see what’s around them. There’s also an axe, which could be a tool for survival or a dangerous weapon, showing that characters are threatened by both monsters and maybe other people, too. These props aren’t just for decoration; they help create a feeling of urgency and fear in each scene. I’m drawn to these elements because they let me explore themes of fear and survival, which are what I love about the horror genre.

Everything on my mood board shows the style and feeling of a horror movie, using color and design to create a dark, creepy world. The characters wear dark costumes, which blend them into the shadows and make them seem like part of the setting. This choice also creates tension because the characters are often hard to see until they step into the light, possibly facing something dangerous. These elements together make the mood board a great reflection of the horror theme in my movie, capturing the eerie and suspenseful atmosphere I want. It’s the perfect tool to help me keep the tone consistent as I create the story.

Sound Project

• Why is sound or the lack of sound so important to a scene in a film?  What kind of messages can it send an audience? 
• The sound or lack of sound can greatly impact the mood of the scene in a film. Like silence can increase tension and enhance visuals in a scene. 

• Explain why it was or was not difficult to come up with sound ideas for a story that would not have visuals for the audience to see. 
• It was not difficult to come up with sound ideas because sound can help tell a story in a scene. 

• Explain weather you believe or do not believe that your group was able to create a sound story that the audience would be able to understand by just listening to the sounds that were chosen.  What was the story you created and how did the sounds bring the story to life?
•   Our story was about someone getting ready to go to school. We emphasized this aspect by adding a sound of yawning, brushing teeth, and taking a shower. By this i think the audience with be able to understand this scene even without sound.
